A non-surgical way to lift and open the brow area using targeted Botox injections
April 2, 2026

As we age, the eyebrows gradually descend. This can make the eyes look smaller, heavier, or more tired than they actually are. A Botox eyebrow lift is a non-surgical technique that uses small, precisely placed injections to subtly raise the brow, opening up the eye area and refreshing the upper face without surgery or downtime.
It is one of the most popular applications of Botox and Dysport beyond wrinkle reduction, and when done well, the results look completely natural.
Your brow position is determined by two opposing muscle groups. The frontalis muscle on the forehead pulls the brows upward, while the orbicularis oculi (the muscle that encircles the eye) and the corrugator pull them downward. In a resting state, these forces are roughly balanced.
A Botox brow lift works by selectively weakening the muscles that pull the brow down. When small doses of botulinum toxin are injected into the lateral portion of the orbicularis oculi, the downward pull is reduced, allowing the frontalis to lift the brow unopposed. A study by Ahn et al. (2000) published in Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery demonstrated statistically significant brow elevation following targeted botulinum toxin injections.
The lift is typically most noticeable at the tail of the brow, which creates a subtle arch and opens the outer eye area. The result is a refreshed, more awake appearance rather than a dramatically altered one.

This technique can address several common concerns:
It is often combined with other areas of Botox treatment in the upper face, such as the glabella (frown lines) and crow's feet, for a comprehensive and balanced result.
A Botox eyebrow lift works best for people with mild to moderate brow descent or heaviness. Good candidates typically:
If you have significant excess skin on the upper eyelids (dermatochalasis), a surgical blepharoplasty may be more appropriate. A Botox brow lift can complement but not replace surgical lifting in more advanced cases. Your injector will assess your anatomy during your consultation and recommend the best approach.
The procedure is quick and straightforward, typically taking about 10 to 15 minutes.
Assessment. Your injector will examine your brow position, muscle activity, and facial symmetry. They may ask you to raise your eyebrows and squint to see how the muscles interact.
Injection. A very fine needle is used to place small amounts of Botox into targeted areas, typically the lateral orbicularis oculi just below the brow tail, and sometimes the corrugator or procerus depending on your anatomy. Most people describe the sensation as a brief pinch.
Completion. There is no downtime. You can return to your day immediately. Your injector will provide aftercare instructions, including avoiding rubbing the area or lying flat for a few hours.
Unlike dermal fillers, Botox results are not immediate. Here is what to expect:
The effects typically last 3 to 4 months. With consistent treatments over time, some patients find the effects last longer as the targeted muscles gradually weaken from repeated use (Kassir et al., StatPearls, 2024).
The cost depends on how many units of Botox are required. A brow lift alone typically uses a relatively small number of units (4 to 10 per side), though most patients also treat other areas of the upper face at the same appointment.
At Arlo Medical, Botox pricing is per unit, and the total cost is determined during your consultation based on your anatomy and goals. We offer complimentary consultations so you can get an accurate estimate before committing to treatment. Book a free consultation to learn more.

A surgical brow lift (forehead lift) physically repositions the brow by tightening skin and underlying tissue. It provides a permanent result but involves anesthesia, incisions, scarring, and several weeks of recovery.
A Botox brow lift is non-surgical, reversible, and requires no downtime. The trade-off is that results are temporary and the degree of lift is more subtle. For many patients, especially those in their 30s to 50s with early brow descent, Botox is a practical first step. If the lift from Botox is no longer sufficient over time, a surgical option can be explored later.
A Botox brow lift is a technique-sensitive procedure. Incorrect placement or dosing can lead to unwanted effects like a "Spock brow" (overly peaked arch), asymmetry, or heaviness if the frontalis is over-treated. The injector needs a solid understanding of the interplay between the frontalis, orbicularis, corrugator, and procerus muscles.
At Arlo Medical, our registered healthcare professionals have advanced training in upper face anatomy and injection techniques. We take a conservative, personalized approach because the goal is always to enhance your natural features, not to create an obvious "done" look.
